Palafito Villages Tour of Ciénaga Grande Colombia

We started at 7:00 in the morning at the nautical dock of the swamp. From there, we headed to the Sevilla River to observe endemic and migratory birds.

We will sail to the deepest point of the river and then return to the Ciénaga Grande. Here, we will enjoy the estuarine landscape and the diversity of birds, including cormorants.

Facing the mouth of the Aracataca River, we will visit the stilt villages of Buenavista and Nueva Venecia. During the Ciénaga Grande Palafito Villages Tour, we will take a nautical tour of this world biosphere reserve. You will admire the natural beauty, including fauna, flora and the channels that connect the lagoons.

In the Pajaral Marsh, we will explore the stilt-house community of Buenavista. We will learn about their customs, walk across the bridges, and take part in a mangrove sustainability workshop. Finally, we will visit Nueva Venecia, touring the town, the oldest bakery, and enjoying a traditional lunch before returning to the dock.
